McKinley Park News Welcomes New Institutions and Their Support

CHICAGO — The McKinley Park News, a micro-local publication covering the McKinley Park neighborhood of Chicago, has grown its free Institutions program with new, participating community groups and elected officials.
The publication also welcomes the first two participants in its new Sponsoring Institutions program, which lets Institutions show their support for local news coverage while enjoying Sponsor-level benefits like Help Wanted classified listings.
“We’re extremely fortunate to cover a community with so many highly engaged community groups, neighborhood associations and elected officials,” said McKinley Park News Publisher Justin Kerr. “The dozens that participate in our Institutions program deliver so much good to our neighborhood.”
One of the newest Institutions is the Spanish Coalition for Housing (SCH), a local non-profit that focuses on housing affordability issues and is active across Chicago, including in the McKinley Park neighborhood.
The publication is also pleased to welcome 25th Ward Alderman Byron Sigcho-Lopez to its Institutions program, Kerr said. The 25th Ward currently covers several blocks on the north end of the McKinley Park neighborhood.
Both Namaste Charter School and Omega Delta Youth Baseball & Softball League have upgraded to Sponsoring Institutions for the publication: For a $49.95 annual fee, Sponsoring Institutions elevate their presence throughout the McKinley Park News and its media channels, get Sponsor-level benefits, and show support for local news, Kerr said.
“We are honored by every Institution that participates in our program,” Kerr said, “and we’re especially grateful to Namaste and Omega Delta for being our first Sponsoring Institutions.”
